New Audi A3 revealed

Audi has revealed the fourth-generation A3, which is priced from £24,900.

The brand will accept orders for the new model from next week, with first deliveries expected in May.

At launch, two engines will be offered: a 1.5-litre TFSI petrol and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel. Both will have 150PS.

Later, a mild-hybrid version of the TFSI will join the range before the full line-up of petrol and diesel engines are offered before the end of the year.

A plug-in hybrid version will also be available.

CO2 emissions, fuel economy and technical specifications are yet to be revealed.

Audi says the new A3 is more spacious than its predecessor, despite being just 3cm longer. The boot volume is 380-litres.

The new A3’s interior follows a similar design to that seen in the A1 and Q3. The manufacturer says it has paid particular attention to improving sound-proofing to make the new car quieter at motorway speeds.

Standard equipment includes a 10.25-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit, a 10.1-inch touch colour display in the instrument panel, MMI Navigation Plus, Audi smartphone interface and Audi Connect Services Plus.

The entry-level Technik trim also includes headlights with LED technology, 16-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, Audi pre sense front, lane departure warning, and collision avoidance assist.

Sport trim adds 17-inch alloy wheels, interior and exterior styling upgrades, dual-zone electronic climate control, and twin leather upholstery.

S line models benefit from 18-inch alloy wheels, sport suspension, LED headlights with LED rear lights and dynamic rear indicators, front sport seats with twin leather, S-embossing and contrast stitching, upgraded interior inlays and privacy glass.

As a new addition to the specification range, the Edition 1 will gain 19-inch alloys, Black exterior styling, Matrix LED headlights, front sport seats in Alcantara and leatherette combination, electrically adjustable front seats, exterior mirrors with memory and heated front seats.

At the top-of-the-range is the new Vorsprung, which features a panoramic sun roof, electric tailgate, sport seats in Fine Nappa leather, Bang & Olufsen Sound System, and Audi phone box with wireless charging.
