The Smart #1 will go on sale this summer with a starting price of £35,950, kickstarting a new era for the brand.

The all-new electric crossover, which was revealed last April, is larger and more luxurious than Smart models of old. It combines Mercedes-Benz design with Geely engineering.

Using Geely's EV-specific SEA platform, the car offers seating for five adults and a 421-litre boot.

Entry-level Pro+ models cost from £35,950 on-the-road and come equipped with a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, Adaptive Cruise Control, heated seats, a 360-degree surround camera, intelligent voice assistance, LED lights and a powered tailgate. The car achieves a WLTP range of 260 miles and has a 7.4kW on-board charger.

The Smart #1 Premium offers a sound system by Beats, a Head-Up Display, Matrix LED headlights and Automatic Parking Assist. Priced from £38,950, the Premium offers an even greater WLTP range of 273 miles, achieved via the fitment of a silicon carbide invertor and heat pump. It also features a 22kW on-board charger.

A Launch Edition, limited to just 100 UK examples, will be available from £39,450.

All three are powered by a 272PS electric motor and a 62kWh battery, with 150kW DC rapid charging capability.

At the top of the range, priced from £43,450, the #1 Brabus features a range of design cues including more aggressive styling, bonnet vents, unique contrast paint and 19-inch wheels. On the inside, an Alcantara steering wheel, microfibre suede seats and headrests with Brabus design stitching add to the sporty feel of the car alongside red seatbelts and metal pedals.

The Smart #1 Brabus develops 428PS and 584Nm. With all-wheel drive, it can accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds and has a range of 248 miles.

Every car includes an Integrated Service Package covering servicing and wear and tear items for three years/30,000 miles, a high-voltage battery warranty covering eight years/125,000 miles, and Roadside Assistance for up to eight years/100,000 miles if the car is maintained at a Smart aftersales partner.
