Essential Fleet Services appoints Ed Hummel as commercial director

Essential Fleet Services has announced that it has appointed Ed Hummel as commercial director.

Hummel joins  from EurotaxGlass’s, a provider of automotive data and intelligence, where he held the role of managing director.

Hummel has previously worked in sales leadership roles with several automotive organisations including Honda, Volkswagen and Ford.

Essential  is a Lincoln-based contract hire and leasing company backed by private equity investors, Endless LLP.

Essential has operations spanning the North West, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the South East, and has a turnover of approximately £43 million.

Ray O’Toole, chief executive at Essential Fleet Services, said: “We’re very pleased Ed has decided to join us.

“He will be a great asset to the business and an energetic member of our senior management team and board, supporting Essential to achieve our significant growth ambitions.

“He is very experienced in delivering strong commercial results in challenging business environments, demonstrating engaging and effective leadership to transform the sales process and client relationships.”

Hummel said, "I'm delighted to be joining the board of Essential Fleet Services.

“It’s a strong business with many long standing customer relationships.

“I believe we have considerable potential to grow by offering the most professional customer experience in this fragmented specialist vehicle market".
