Alphabet has appointed Simon Carr as the new chief commercial officer for its UK executive team.

Carr (pictured) joins Alphabet from LeasePlan where he held the position of brand director and had served in a number of leadership roles across the business since 2007.

This latest appointment completes a series of top-level management changes at the company over the past year, which has included the appointment of new head of compliance, Leanne Christmas in January and new chief financial officer, Stefan Oswald who joined the business in March.

Christmas, Oswald and now Carr join an established executive team led by chief executive Nick Brownrigg comprising of Adam Lupton (HR director), Matt Sutherland (chief operating officer) and John Chuhan (chief risk officer).

Carr said: “It is a fantastic time to join a company that has turned the mobility vision into a working reality for customers. One of the most exciting aspects for me will be enhancing relationships with Alphabet’s broad customer base to collaboratively develop the next generation of our products and services. As the leasing and mobility industry enters a new defining era, I am looking forward to helping Alphabet shape it.”

Alphabet GB’s chief executive Nick Brownrigg said: “We’re excited to have recruited someone of Simon’s personal qualities, professional calibre and industry experience. He will play a pivotal role in leading the future development of Alphabet’s commercial activities, new product initiatives and the ongoing efforts to increase our customer focus.”
