DriveTech has appointed Nick Butler as its new fleet director, taking over from Chris Thornton who is retiring from the business world.

Butler (pictured) is a senior commercial and operational leader and has a wealth of experience from within the automotive and finance industries.

He spent 15 years at Alphabet, most recently as head of mobility services, and previously worked for Renault Financial Services and Ford Credit Europe.

“I am delighted to be joining DriveTech at a time where having a coherent driver risk policy is increasingly at the top of many fleet customer’s agendas,” said Butler.

“I look forward to meeting existing customers, as well as growing the business by fully utilising our unique range of products.”

DriveTech’s managing director David Wilson said: “I’m delighted to welcome Nick to the DriveTech business and look forward to working with him to further strengthen and grow our fleet driver risk management business area.

“When Chris Thornton took the decision to retire, we saw this as an opportunity to build on Chris’s sterling work over the past few years and appoint a similarly professional leader with a tremendous fleet pedigree and some very valuable experience in this sector to help us to continue to deliver our market-leading driver risk management services.”
