BYD is returning to Company Car in Action this year offering test drives of its latest vehicles, including Dolphin and Seal.

The Dolphin is the Chinese brand’s smallest model. It is offered with a selection of electric powertrains offering ranges of 204 – 265 miles.

Entering the compact executive segment, the Seal is equipped with an 82.5kWh battery and there is a choice of two powertrains.

The single-motor car has 313PS and a range of 354 miles (WLTP). The twin-motor car has 530PS and a range of 323 miles.

BYD has revealed an aspiration to capture 6% of the UK electric vehicle market over the next few years on the back of an accelerated model launch plan that has seen these three cars already launch and another three or four expected in 2024.

Test drives of the Dolphin, Atto 3 and Seal will be possible at CCIA, taking place at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire, on 12-13 June.

There will also be a static display of the brand’s next model: the Seal U DMi.

This mid-size SUV, based on the Seal saloon, is powered by a plug-in hybrid engine.

UK marketing manager Mark Blundell said: “BYD are delighted to attend for the second consecutive year Company Car in Action. Since our debut last year, we have launched two further all-electric models. The compact hatchback Dolphin and the sports saloon Seal which we’re excited for guests to experience for the first time at Company Car in Action.

“In addition to this, we’re delighted to announce the UK event static debut of our first plug-in-hybrid model the Seal U DMi. We anticipate this generating a lot of interest among the fleet market so we’re really looking forward to meeting the event guests at our stand”.

An incredible 34 brands are bringing their latest and greatest cars and vans for fleet decision-makers to test to this year’s event.

And away from the track on both days, informative seminars will cover workplace charging, offering advice to fleets looking to install workplace charging infrastructure, from the process to the timescales to future proofing advice, as they transition to full electric.

There will also manufacturer panel discussions where fleet representatives will discuss future products, BEV transition and technology developments on a panel session each day hosted by Fleet News editor Stephen Briers.

The VWFS Fleet Pavilion will offer a premium space for CCIA visitors to gather with peers and colleagues, network with current and future suppliers, refuel with a choice of food stands or simply relax and soak in the atmosphere while visiting the event.
