National health and social care transport company ERS Medical has chosen Nexus Vehicle Rental as its rental fleet supplier for the next three years.

ERS has been a Nexus customer since 2017, this new agreement secures the sole-supply of rental vehicles until 2024.

The company, which provides transport services to the healthcare sector, uses rental to bolster its 500-vehicle fleet, as demand fluctuates rapidly.

Jeroen van Os, finance director at ERS Medical, said: “Renewing our contract with Nexus was a no-brainer for us because having the flexibility to scale our fleet up and down is crucial due to the ever-changing landscape of the healthcare and medical sector.

“We provide a number of services for our customers including same-day dedicated courier services to the UK healthcare sector, from the secure collection and delivery of pathological specimens to internal mail and confidential medical records.

“Nexus ensures that we are able to support our NHS clients in every corner of the UK. The IRIS system is an invaluable resource that enables us to easily up-scale and down-scale our fleet with access to hundreds of thousands of vans through one simple platform.”

Nexus has a supply chain of 550,000 vehicles, sourced from more than 2,000 locations. It is able to provide ERS Medical with a guaranteed supply of long-term vehicles that it can flex up and down depending on its own contracts, with no penalties or extra costs.

David Brennan (pictured), CEO at Nexus Vehicle Rental, added: “Without a doubt, the last 12 months have been difficult for many sectors, but we are proud to have supported our key worker customers in the medical industry by keeping them moving throughout the challenges of the pandemic; helping them to scale their fleets, facilitate social distancing and – in the case of ERS Medical – support the NHS’ Covid-19 response.

“We always strive to form genuine partnerships with all of our clients, big and small, and we work tirelessly to solve problems and provide innovative solutions for our customers. We have worked with ERS Medical for four years now and look forward to continuing to support their fleet mobility needs throughout the next three years.”
