Fleet FAQ

Q:

What is the speed limit for my van?

A:

For built-up areas and motorways, vans should follow the same speed limit as cars. But on single and dual carriageways, the speed limit is 10mph lower than the speed limit for cars:

  • 60mph on dual carriageways
  • 50mph on single carriageways

Vans must follow the speed limits for good vehicles of the same weight. Learn more on the GOV.UK website.

Vehicles under 2 tonnes laden (loaded) weight may qualify as a ‘car-derived van’ or ‘dual-purpose vehicle’. These vehicles have the same speed limits as cars.
