Major Recruitment is working alongside a global flavour and extracts business which have facilities across Europe, North America and Asia. They are looking for a Logistics Manager based full-time on site in High Wycombe

As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient movement of goods to meet customer requirements. This role involves managing the end-to-end logistics operations, from procurement to distribution, ensuring that products are delivered on time and in good condition while optimising costs.

Key Responsibilities of a Logistics Manager:

Logistics Operations Management: Plan, organize, and manage all logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure the smooth flow of materials and products to meet customer demand and production schedules.
Shipping & Receiving: Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and materials, including managing inbound and outbound shipments, tracking, and delivery documentation.
Vendor & Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with logistics
Cost Optimization: Analyze logistics costs and develop strategies to reduce transportation and warehousing expenses while improving service levels.
Team Management: Lead, train, and develop the logistics team, ensuring high performance, productivity, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Technology & Systems: Utilize logistics and supply chain software, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and ERP systems, to track shipments, manage inventory, and improve efficiency.
Reporting & Analysis: Monitor logistics performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), generate reports for management, and recommend improvements to enhance supply chain effectiveness.

Skills required to be a successful Logistics Manager

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations
Strong knowledge of logistics processes, inventory management, and distribution systems.
Experience with ERP systems, TMS, and WMS software.
Exceptional organisational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop employees.
Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
Knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and international logistics.
Experience in implementing process improvements or cost-saving initiatives.
