Planning & Logistics Manager – £40,000-£43,000 + 33 Days holiday + Early Finish Friday + Pension + Private Medical + Career Progression

We are working with a market leader who are experiencing significant growth. They have a clear path for future company growth and as such are looking to add a Planning & Logistics Manager to their team in Doncaster.

The Role:
In this capacity, the Planning & Logistics Manager will be tasked with co-ordinating the flow and management of the product and materials. The Planning & Logistics Manager will plan and review in conjunction with the production and commercial teams the short-, medium- and long-term production schedules.
Main Responsibilities:
* Monitoring both daily and weekly production against plan.
* Create production schedule and prioritise by customer.
* Interact with shop floor management daily to highlight issues, coordinate with colleagues to devise a solution, ensuring production schedules are maintained.
* Highlight any potential bottlenecks to stakeholders.
* Oversee the delivery and despatch of bogies / materials in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
* Achieve financial objectives by helping to prepare annual budgets, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions.
* Liaise with Production to ensure all transactions are closed out prior to shipment.
* Communicate with internal suppliers, provide a build plan to the production division, manage / expedite delivery between the two facilities to the planned dates.
* Attend the morning Production meeting and RAG meetings.and attend monthly review and cost update meetings.
* Produce monthly KPI reports and graphs, for Scheduling and logistics.
* Manage and maintain the monthly WIP and completions tracker, presenting data back to the business.
* Ensure route cards are printed and issued to the facility on receipt of overhaulable assets.
* Develop / mentor direct reports through training and appraising. Monitor attendance ensuring sickness absence reviews are completed.
* Complete annual performance appraisal for direct reports.
What We Are Looking For:
The Planning & Logistics Manager will ideally have experience in a similar role and be a forward-thinking individual with attention to detail.
Ideally you will be/have:
* Experience of managing in a fast-moving warehousing and distribution environment, ideally within a manufacturing operation.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to fully understand budget and financial targets.
* MRP/ERP experience.
* Proven ability to lead and motivate personnel, with excellent people management skills.
* A good understanding of modern lean manufacturing techniques.
* Proficient level of IT and ability to use such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
* Effective communication skills.
* Work collaboratively and influence to build strong, trusting relationships with peers and other business departments.
* Manage conflicting deadlines and able to prioritise, plan workload for themselves and others effectively.
* Solid judgement and the ability to influence senior stakeholders to provide pace to get things delivered.
