Our client is a highly successful family run business who really look after their team.
A new role is being created within the team responsible for transport planning. You will be coming into a transport planning team with a highly experienced Manager. This could be an ideal role if you have some experience in a traffic or transport office but would like the potential to grow your responsibilities and knowledge as the Company will offer ongoing training, support and development to you. There can be a real future and career development opportunities here for you.
In order to be considered, you will have the confidence to deal with customers and drivers
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Assist senior transport manager in day to day running of the fleet with a view to eventually taking over the reins
• Communicate instructions to drivers and clients
• Help develop new and maintain existing customer relationships
• Assist in inputting prices, order numbers and PO references into transport management software
• Communicate with the team to ensure accurate and timely
• Assist with customer queries
• Assist in the cover of holidays and absence within the traffic team
• Other ad hoc duties as required
In order to be considered, you will be;
• Effective confident communicator
• Professional and friendly
• Attention to detail
• Able to work under pressure
• Good geographical knowledge
• Solid IT skills (MS Office/Teams)
• Some experience in a transport environment
You must be able to trouble shoot in a calm and efficient manner, ensuring that the problem gets resolved within a timely manner, whilst being aware of profit at all times
My ideal candidate will have a PSV licence or working towards it, CPC qualification is also desirable
This position will involve some weekend work on a rota one in three, you will need flexibility in your working hours
