Transport Manager – West Yorkshire
£46,500 per annum
Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week
CPC preferred (not essential) | Outlook/Excel essential | On-call 1 in 4 weeks
Are you an experienced Transport Manager looking for your next challenge? A growing manufacturing and distribution business in West Yorkshire is seeking a confident, hands-on professional to oversee the day-to-day operations of their transport department.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate, and manage the transport team
* Ensure compliance with transport legislation, driver hours, and tachograph regulations
* Plan rotas, allocate resources, and manage 3rd party hauliers and agency drivers
* Monitor vehicle availability, servicing, MOTs, defects, and fleet performance
* Handle DVLA licence checks and fuel card usage
* Conduct disciplinary meetings, RTW interviews, and recruitment for driving roles
* Liaise with other departments to ensure an efficient supply chain
* Produce daily reports and attend management meetings
What You’ll Need
* Strong background in transport or logistics management
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Solid IT skills, especially Excel and Outlook
* CPC qualification preferred but not essential
* A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to go the extra mile
