VAUXHALL has secured a deal with computer giant ICL which will ensure the car-maker's vehicles will dominate the fleet until 1999. With 5,500 vehicles, ICL operates one of the largest fleets in the UK and has been one of Vauxhall's best customers for several years.

ICL purchases vehicles outright and 70% of its fleet will be supplied by Vauxhall until the turn of the century under the new three-year deal.

Vehicle fleet manager Fred Noakes said he was extremely happy to continue the existing supply arrangements with Vauxhall. 'The main influencing factors have been the consistently high quality of vehicles produced by Vauxhall Motors and low cost of ownership we have experienced,' said Noakes. 'The significant changes made to the 1997 Vectra also contributed to our decision to remain with Vauxhall.'
