SAAB is to launch a quartet of flagship versions of its smallest model as part of a drive for more corporate business. The new 900 cars will be in the showrooms by spring and will be used to help push total sales by Saab GB to 15,000 in 1997.

To carry Talladega badges, the special-edition cars are being built to celebrate the success of the spectacular endurance test staged by Saab in October at the Talladega raceway in America.

Prices are not yet fixed, but the 2.0i three-door and the turbocharged two-litre coupe, five-door and convertible models will all boast special bodywork, unique wheels, high-level equipment and leather trim.
