NISSAN is about to host the UK's single largest car launch at a cost of £4.5 million at its Sunderland plant. The company has reserved 6,000 hotel rooms in Newcastle during August and September and dealers will be coming from all over Europe to see a new exhibition planned for the launch of the new Primera.

Brian Carolin, Nissan's marketing director, said: 'The exhibition will give our dealers the opportunity to understand how well the car has been designed and built. We plan to send them on a high-technology journey through each stage of the car's development and manufacture.'
