New rental venture for Rice

ADRIAN Rice has left Adrian Truck Hire to set up a new company, Acrobat Vehicle Rental, specialising in the rental of refrigerated vans and trucks. The move comes three years after Rice and his family sold Reading-based Adrian Truck Hire to Transport Development Group. Since last year Adrian Truck Hire has been trading as part of TDG Vehicle Rental.

Acrobat Vehicle Rental, based in Hook, has bought a fleet of 10 new Mercedes-Benz 208 Sprinter panel vans, four 310 Sprinter freezer boxes and two 7.5-tonne 814 freezer boxes, which have been converted by the GRP Group. Each vehicle is suitable for chilled or frozen loads and is fitted with a temperature recorder, overnight standby and side-door. All boxes have moveable bulkheads for an optional dual compartment.
