INCHCAPE has appointed two new executive directors - Trevor Taylor chief executive of Inchcape Toyota Division, and Peter Johnson, chief executive of Inchcape Motors International. Both joined the group's main board on January 1.

Taylor has been chief executive of Inchcape Toyota Division since 1995 and was also executive chairman and chief executive of Toyota GB from 1995 until December 1997. He joined Toyota GB as deputy managing director in 1987, having previously spent 17 years with Rover Group and its formative companies in positions including operations director, sales and marketing, for Austin Morris, managing director, Europe and overseas, at British Leyland and director, international operations, for Austin Rover Group.

Johnson joined Inchcape in 1995 as chief executive of Inchcape Motors Retail, before becoming chief executive of Inchcape Motors International in January 1996. Prior to this he spent 18 years at Rover Group in positions including export director, UK operations director and worldwide sales director.
