BCH wins £500,000-a-year DHL contract

BCH Vehicle Management has won a contract worth £500,000 a year to provide maintenance management to DHL International UK, the express delivery service. The open-ended agreement extends a one-year trial of BCH's services.

It will maintain half the 1,400-strong DHL fleet, with the other half under Ford Contract Motoring. BCH has set up a fleet support line for drivers of the 700 DHL vehicles which it maintains. The agreement is part of several initiatives at DHL. It is considering whether to move its 450-strong car fleet from operating lease to contract hire and whether to outsource its accident management, although there are no definite plans.
