£15 million-worth of Escort GTIs heading Budget Rent A Car's way

BUDGET Rent A Car is taking delivery of more than 1,000 Ford Escort GTIs in a deal worth £15 million at showroom prices. The 1.8-litre fuel injected Escorts represent an incremental increase to Budget's WorldClass fleet, and each features air conditioning, 'Cosworth' style alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, and white sports dial.

The majority of the cars joined Budget's fleet in March and April, with the rest being added over the next six months. All of the Escort GTIs are on a buy-back arrangement, and will be remarketed via the Ford Direct programme to protect and maximise their residual values. The cars form the foundation of Budget's special spring promotion which is offering them for £34.95 per day until July 14, the price including unlimited mileage, collision damage waiver, theft protection insurance premium location charges and VAT.
