ENTERPRISE Rent-A-Car has reassured the customers and staff of hire firm Churchfields that it is business as usual, despite Churchfields directors calling a meeting of creditors to appoint a liquidator. Accountancy firm Grant Thornton was instructed to contact Churchfields' creditors just three days after Enterprise bought the business of Churchfields in December.

The acquisition covered the company's trading name, contracts and certain assets, but was not a share purchase because Enterprise did not wish to assume the debt liability. Churchfields' creditors had until yesterday (January 7) to register claims.
