AFTER a hard summer's work, fleets with air-conditioned vehicles must take them to reputable agents for repair and servicing or risk problems for the future. Autoclimate, the Shrewsbury-based air conditioning servicing specialist, has set up a nationwide standard for the maintenance of air conditioning in vehicles through a network of bodyshop-based centres.

It is warning that sub-standard servicing equipment could cost garages and fleets money. Some of the equipment used for servicing is woefully inadequate and could damage a car's air conditioning, the firm claims. It has issued an eight-point battle plan, which includes checking that a supplier is providing high standard equipment.
