Single Euro rate for National

NATIONAL Car Rental is to charge customers a single daily rate in Euros throughout its Continental operations. Called the 39 Eurorate, the offer will apply only to private rentals, and covers three vehicles sizes - 39 Euros for upper medium sector vehicles, 34 Euros for lower medium sector and 31 Euros for superminis.

The rates will apply to rentals in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK and will run until March 2000. John Mycroft, marketing manager for National Car Rental, said: 'The offer is a chance to make rentals easier for the businessman travelling abroad. Prices do differ between countries and it took a lot of negotiation to agree a common rate, but I am glad to say that we have done it.'
