THE Government has launched its annual Christmas anti-drink-drive campaign which will see a £1.9 million series of television commercials running until December 31.

Transport minister Lord Whitty said: 'We hope this hard-hitting campaign will serve as a reminder to people of the very real dangers of drink-driving. These commercials contain very harrowing images, which we believe will hammer home the message that drinking and driving can wreck lives.' Drink-drivers face a minimum 12-month driving ban, a £5,000 fine and six months in prison.
