FLEET managers should not see Renault's decision to cut back on the number of its dealerships and those operated by its part-owned subsidiary Nissan as a pre-emptive move to reduce servicing outlets by all manufacturers.

Addressing concern expressed by fleet managers at the ACFO meeting Alan Pulham, director of the National Franchised Dealers Association, said the French manufacturers' decision to cut Nissan's European dealer workforce by 55% was more a 'knee-jerk reaction'.
