CONSTRUCTION giant Alfred McAlpine has become the second company to sign up as a user of Car Fleet Control's new FleetPlus fleet management system - after completing negotiations started at Fleet Show 2000. FleetPlus is a new generation of professional management software aimed at medium to larger fleets. It is designed to be a complete solution for fleets of more than 200 vehicles and is the result of more than two years of research and development.

Staybrite Windows, which has 378 vehicles, was first in the queue for FleetPlus. The 1,280-vehicle Alfred McAlpine fleet is managed from the company's plant division offices at Sandycroft by fleet manager Owen Farrimond, who has been a Car Fleet Control user since entering the fleet industry 10 years ago. He said: 'We have been using Car Fleet Control's Eurofleet system for some years and it has become a very important fleet management tool to us.

'The system enables us to build up a complete picture of the factors that affect the fleet decisions we take. FleetPlus adds many useful features I am sure will enable us to tighten up control of the fleet still further.'
