LOMBARD and BCA joined forces for a series of exclusive sales to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief. More then 700 cars were offered for sale at BCA Nottingham, BCA Derby and BCA Newport and 90.2% of the entry was sold for 100.1% of CAP clean.

Among the strongest sellers were a 98S Vauxhall Corsa 1.7 D LS 5dr with 69,000 miles on the clock, which was sold for £4,075, 116.4% of CAP clean; a 97R Volkswagen Passat 1.9 diesel SE 4dr, 58,000 miles, fetched £7,900, 106.7% of CAP clean; and 97R Land Rover Discovery, 2.5TDI 5dr, 65,000, fetched £11,100, 115% of CAP clean. A 97R Rover 214Si 5dr, 40,000 miles, fetched £4,800, 117.1% of CAP clean. Prestige and executive cars from BMW and Mercedes-Benz were offered alongside Ford Mondeos and Vauxhall Vectras. Vehicles ranged from late year, low mileage to three- and four-year-old ex-lease cars.

Lombard made a donation for every car sold throughout the programme of sales and this, along with other fundraising efforts by BCA and its customers, raised nearly £4,200 for the charity. A prize draw made at BCA Newport saw Rhondda-based dealership Ron Skinner and Sons win the first prize of a Nissan Micra donated by Lombard.
