Citroen cleans up with van contract

THE UK's largest cleaning contractor has announced a tidy order for 36 Citroen Berlingo and Relay vans, all of them equipped with satellite navigation systems.

The Executive Group will use the vehicles as part of its new Transport for London (TfL) contract to clean 18,000 bus stops and shelters for London Buses.Working at night, the 30 Berlingo 600D LX vans and six Relay 1500TD 2.0HDi vans will be used by one or two-man cleaning crews throughout the capital.

HSBC Finance is providing the vehicles on contract hire on three-year/45,000-mile with maintenance contracts.

Executive Group managing director (southern division), David Noel, said: 'This contract depends on reliable vehicles and our experience with Citroen vans on similar work in Merseyside has shown that they combine reliability with low cost of operation.'

Citroen dealer Lovekyn of Kingston has equipped the vehicles with roof-mounted beacons and rear mounted work lights.
