MAZDA is seizing the opportunity to reassert its standing in the corporate market at Fleet News Drive, the two ride and drive events taking place in April and May at Brands Hatch and Oulton Park.

The two events will provide the company with an excellent opportunity to present its product offering in the wake of its take-over of its UK import and distribution operations from MCL Group last August, the resultant creation of Mazda Motors UK, plus product and pricing realignments.

Jeremy Thomson, Mazda fleet and remarketing director, said: 'The company is keen to demonstrate the recently revised model range.'

Cars available to test at both ride and drive events (Brands Hatch April 9-10 and Oulton Park April 30/May 1) will be the new 323, the revised Premacy and new MX-5, the Demio and the new Tribute 4x4, launched at the end of 2001.

The Mazda6, replacement for the 626, is expected to premier at the Fleet News Spring Conference on May 14 and 15 at the ICC, Birmingham.

##CitC3--left## CITROEN has revealed today that it will be bringing its new small car challenger, the C3 (left) to the Fleet News ride and drives.

The two events, collectively titled Fleet News Drive, will take place at Brands Hatch on April 9-10 and Oulton Park on April 30 and May 1.

Already major fleet manufacturers have signed up to take part, including Ford, Honda, Mazda, Subaru, Volvo and Toyota.

Fleet decision-makers will be able to drive cars on the racetrack at each venue, road routes and also on a special off-road course.

A Citroen spokesman said: 'The two events give us the important opportunity to show our latest range of products, most importantly the C3 which we will be presenting to UK fleet managers at each event (for a Fleet NewsNet assessment of the C3 go to the 'Roadtest' section of this website).

'There is no substitute to a ride and drive to let fleet managers assess new products.'

In addition to test drives, seminars will be held throughout each day, covering key fleet topics that have a major impact on the operation of modern-day fleets. A number of these will also count towards professional qualifications for accountants and finance directors.

Other professionals who will benefit from attending the event include fleet and finance experts, human resources managers, directors and managerial staff.

  • Tickets for each event are strictly limited, so early application for a place is highly recommended.

An application form for places is attached to this week's Fleet News which can be faxed to 0870 429 4377.

The telephone hotline number to register for the events is 0870 429 4376.
