THE 750,000th Octavia has rolled off the production line at the Skoda Auto plant in Mlada Boleslav, in the Czech Republic.

The anniversary car was a diamond silver Octavia Ambiente equipped with a 1.9 TDi turbodiesel engine and was destined for a customer in the Czech Republic.

Out of the 750,000 Octavia models produced so far, there have been 500,000 hatchbacks and 250,000 estates.

Head of Skoda marketing in the UK, Mary Newcombe said: 'The Octavia marked a turning point for Skoda. Not only has it contributed greatly to the restoration of the brand and the revitalised image, it paved the way for the acclaimed Fabia and, most recently, the new Skoda Superb.'
