Trading places

THE latest appointments in the fleet industry.

  • JONATHAN Crook has been appointed area sales manager with LDV dealer, Lex Commercials of York. Crook was previously with BRS Ltd, a truck rental firm, where he was sales manager for 12 years responsible for two teams.

  • CVC Capital Partners, which recently acquired Halfords, has appointed Rod Scribbins as managing director and chief executive of the car parts and bicycles store chain. In addition, Richard Saville has been appointed finance director. He was previously in the same role with house builder George Wimpey.

  • AUTOGLASS has appointed Lee Garner as manager of its Bedford branch and deputy regional manager for the Bedfordshire area. Garner joined the company in 1994 as a fitting technician and was most recently branch manager at Milton Keynes. His new role involves desputising as regional manager for Bedford, Coventry and Oxford areas.

  • SIMON Clifford has been appointed director of the Integrated Fuel Management operation with CH Jones, the fuel management specialist. Clifford was previously commercial director with Norbert Dentressangle where he was responsible for the company's work with IKEA. Having spent 10 years in contract logistics, Clifford's new responsibilities involve helping customers develop fuel management systems.

  • JONATHAN Handford has been appointed to the new role of operations director with The Bri-Stor Group. The company, which makes vehicle racking systems, is continuing its expansion programme with a £1 million investment in new production facilities. Handford joins Bri-Stor from Stahl, an American manufacturer of truck equipment and bodywork where he was plant manager for two years.

  • MIKE Belk has been appointed director of after sales with Daimler- Chrysler's executive management team. He succeeds Wade Hubbard who is returning to the United States. Belk joined Daimler-Chrysler in 1991 and was previously general manager of after sales operations. He also has experience in the company's training and human resources departments.

  • SALLY Rainbow-Ockwell and Chris Chatterton have been appointed managing directors of Group IT and InsureAssist, respectively, for the Helphire Group. Chatterton was previously chief operations officer with CCC International. Rainbow-Ockwell worked in IT management for 16 years.
