JUST like the human population, cars are getting taller and wider, according to refurbishment and logistics firm Eurofleet, which has had to invest £4.5 million in 56 new car transporters to accommodate bigger vehicles.
The new transporters are designed to carry cars that are much larger than their predecessors, such as the Honda Civic and Peugeot 307 as well as an increase in MPVs, off roaders and commercial vehicles.
In 2001 Inchcape-owned Eurofleet moved 450,000 vehicles with a fleet of 130 car transporters, while its 130 trade plate drivers conducted 71,000 movements.
