Aggressive pricing strategy for Megane CC

RENAULT has announced prices for its new Megane Coupe-Cabriolet (pictured) with an aggressive strategy against the upcoming Peugeot 307CC.

The entry-level 115bhp 1.6 VVT Extreme is priced at £16,500 on-the-road, while the 136bhp 2.0-litre Dynamique is priced at £18,200 – £100 less than Peugeot's 2.0-litre 307CC.

There is also a diesel version, using a 120bhp 1.9 dCi engine, priced from £19,000 on-the-road. So far it is the only lower-medium sector diesel cabriolet. The Megane Coupe-Cabriolet uses an electric folding hard top, but unlike other cars in the sector the roof section is glass.
