MOTORING organisation RAC has reissued its brand guidelines to help more than 2,500 dealerships selling vehicles with an RAC inspection or warranty.

The aim is to ensure they can continue to display the brand correctly, attract more customers and improve residual values.

Tony Noakes, head of RAC Inspection Services, said: 'Dealers using the RAC brand have the power to attract larger numbers of customers onto their forecourts than ever before.

'Dealers who display the correct RAC trademark logos, whether it be on their website, in advertising or on site, are more likely to be genuine – and potential buyers need to be aware of the difference.'

Members of the RAC Inspected Dealer programme have all vehicles inspected by an RAC engineer.

A dealer which buys RAC Warranty policies will also be able to distribute a full range of other branded products such as gap, tyre and MOT Insurance.

RAC's Report on Motoring 2002 showed that 50% of motorists thought an RAC inspection affected the value of a second hand car.

They also said they would be more likely to use a dealer certified by RAC.
