‘High-tech to high-touch’

MARTYN Gallop has joined the senior management team at Tuskerdirect as head of commercial operations.

He will be responsible for all commercial operations, including vehicle procurement and remarketing, as well as overseeing the integration of the recently acquired fleet management group, Inspire Fleet Solutions. Gallop brings several years’ experience gained in the fleet industry, including operations director at Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions and a similar role at Arval.

He said: ‘Tuskerdirect and Inspire are different companies, one high-tech, the other high-touch, and my role will be to help recognise the differences while also building common processes and systems.’

  • ATS EUROMASTER has appointed Vince McGurk as group operations director responsible for raising ATS’s performance by improving service delivery levels. He will also be responsible for setting priorities, implementing specific measurement systems and tracking performance. Prior to joining ATS, McGurk was operations and logistics director for equipment pooling company Chep.

  • SEAN Sutcliffe has joined Biofuels Corporation as chief executive. He joins from the BG Group, where he was executive vice-president and managing director of new businesses. John Nicholas, co-founder and former chief executive continues as a director in an executive role. Sutcliffe said: ‘My focus will firstly be to ensure that the ongoing investment in Europe’s largest biodiesel plant is successfully implemented.’

  • DHL has appointed Chris James as market manager of key accounts for its UK Express operations. James will be responsible for increasing DHL’s customer base and market share in sectors such as life sciences, automotive and retail. He joined DHL as major account manager in 2001 from Bizerba.

  • TRACY Allen has been promoted as operations manager covering marketing support services at Network Automotive. Allen joined the company 10 years ago, initially being involved with training before moving onto programme management.
