Fitness First enlists aid to streamline its fleet

HEALTH club operator Fitness First has revamped the way its fleet is run in a bid to cut costs and improve efficiency.

It has introduced a dual-badge Volkswagen-Audi fleet as part of the changes and has also awarded Custom Fleet a solus deal to supply, fund and manage its fleet of 250 cars.

The move follows a major review of its fleet and has been awarded after a tender process.

Group purchasing executive Anne Bibbings, said: ‘As a company we were looking to reduce costs, upgrade our cars and concentrate on core activities. The new relationship with Custom Fleet will allow us to achieve all those objectives.’

The new contract includes full maintenance management, outsourced accident management and pooled mileages to avoid excess charges. Custom Fleet is also charged with the task of new vehicle orders, delivery and maintaining driver records.
