KOREAN car firm Hyundai has taken over the importation of its cars into the UK.

Under factory ownership, the newly-named Hyundai Motor UK plans to double yearly sales by 2008 to about 80,000 cars.

The firm’s new managing director Ray Pope, formerly finance director of Hyundai Car UK, said: ‘This Will allow us to invest much more, both in time and money, into ensuring we have one of, if not the, best retail network of any manufacturer in the UK.’
