Volkswagen Jetta
THE Jetta name makes a comeback in the UK on the back of this booted Golf. Replacing the Bora, the Jetta range mirrors that of the Golf on which it is based, meaning a choice of FSI petrol or TDI turbodiesel engines. There’s also a turbocharged FSI, borrowed from the Golf GTI, offering 197bhp. Buyers have the choice of a six-speed manual or the DSG clutchless manual gearbox. Prices start at £14,635.
Volvo C70
VOLVO’S ageing C70 coupe and convertible cars have finally been replaced – and the new version is bang up to date. Featuring a clever folding metal hardtop, the C70 transforms from four-seater coupe to full convertible in under 30 seconds. It also has the performance to match its sleek looks thanks to a turbocharged T5 petrol engine, although the 180bhp diesel which arrives later this year is more fleet friendly.
