GARTH Murphy, director of HSB Haughton Engineering, Oldham, has become the first winner of CompanyCarDriver’s on-going £500 Red Letter Days voucher competition.

All Murphy had to do to win was get 10 of his drivers to sign up to the new free-to-register site (www.companycardriver.co.uk) developed by the Fleet NewsNet team-editor Jeremy Bennett and reporter Tom Seymour.

The site provides everything drivers need to make life on the road easier and safer and provide them with the essential information to make a fully-informed decision when choosing their next company car.

Murphy said: ‘I can’t believe I won the prize and I can’t wait to try something life threatening.’

He might choose to take a flight in a stunt aeroplane, race around a track in an Aston Martin or Lamborghini, have a helicopter flying lesson or even try a spot of white water rafting courtesy of Red Letter Days.

Bennett will present the voucher to Murphy at his offices in Oldham on Friday.

  • For a chance to win, simply get as many drivers as you can to register on www.companycardriver.co.uk and you will be entered into a prize draw to win a TomTom Go 700 valued at more than £500.
  • Tom Seymour, Fleet NewsNet’s online reporter, received a noodle lunch from Ling Valentine (www.lingscars.com) after writing his review for her contract hire website (Fleet News, January 26). He said: ‘They were translucent and possibly the oddest thing I have ever tasted.’

A label on the lunch said: ‘I hope you enjoy free lunch. Noodles very healthy (except chemicals). To eat, use chopsticks. Chew. Swallow. If small child dies because swallow chopstick, that is unfortunate.’

You can get your free noodle lunch by visiting Ling’s contract website and leaving a nice comment.
