AUDI has revealed the first pictures of its S3 Quattro performance model.

Powered by a development of the Volkswagen Group 2.0-litre TFSI engine, the S3 offers 265bhp thanks to revisions to the tubocharger and intercooler – promising 0-62mph acceleration in 5.7 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 155mph.

The four-wheel drive hatchback opens for orders in September, with deliveries beginning in January.

Prices have yet to be announced, but expect the S3 to cost around £27,000.
