PEUGEOT is taking its 407 range upmarket with the launch of a new variant – a twin-turbocharged diesel model.

The 407 SW 2.2 HDi offers 170bhp and is priced at just over £22,000.

For roughly the same money, fleets also have the choice of Volkswagen’s top turbodiesel Passat estate – the 2.0-litre TDI also offering 170bhp.

Both cars are priced at the higher end of the upper-medium sector, so will they have the residuals to make them a safe fleet bet?
