Figures from leasing companies show that 89% of questions received from fleets were about cost savings and the majority came from companies with fleets of less than 20 vehicles.
Other issues such as environmental concerns and duty of care were also raised, but by fewer fleets. Only 11% of queries related to other issues.
Christophe Desplace, head of funding provider Network, which completed the survey, said: ‘For a growing company, costs tend to be one of, if not the, major concern when considering a fleet. What is surprising is the extent to which expertise on other topics is not being called on. These topics can often bring their own cost benefits.
‘Regardless of how big or small the fleet, making it greener and safer will generally result in cost reductions.’
