Risk warning: 13,000 customers’ details stolen from company car

THE mortgage details of 13,000 Halifax customers have been stolen from an employee’s company car.

Halifax owner HBOS said it was writing to mortgage customers to alert them that some of their details were contained in the documents in a briefcase stolen from the car on Wednesday.

The details listed did not include account details, pin numbers or passwords, HBOS said.
