The all new Jaguar XF makes its global debut on September 11, at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It will go on sale in the UK early next year priced from £33,900 with deliveries in time for the March 1 plate change.

The XF is a four-door saloon featuring the new JaguarDrive SelectorTM with the option of manual selection through Jaguar Sequential Shift. The XF is available with a 2.7-litre V6 twin-turbocharged diesel, a 3.0-litre V6 petrol and a naturally aspirated and supercharged 4.2 V8 petrol.

Available with three trim levels, Luxury, Premium Luxury and SV8, pricing goes up to £54,900 on-the-road.

The XF boasts a series of ‘firsts’ for Jaguar: understeer control logic, a blind spot monitor, rear camera parking aid and the marque’s pedestrian contact sensing system – a first for a Jaguar saloon.

CAP and EurotaxGlass’s have will be quoting residual value after 36 months/36,000 miles of 50% of original value for the 2.7-litre diesel Luxury model. These figures mean the XF 2.7-litre diesel Luxury is best-in-class against rivals BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and Audi. CAP has concluded that the nearest rival, the BMW 525d SE will retain 45.3% of its original value over the same period.

EurotaxGlass’s figure of 50% for the XF 2.7-litre diesel Luxury is best-in-class ahead of the BMW 525d at 48% and the Audi A6 3.0 V6 TDI Quattro SE at a rating of 49%. The XF 3.0-litre V6 petrol is expected to retain 45% of its original value making it best-in-class over the BMW 530i, the Audi A6 3.2 FSI and the Mercedes-Benz E350.
