SHB 4x4, the specialist four-wheel drive rental and leasing firm, celebrated 40 years in business at a party held in its honour by Land Rover at Eastnor Castle.
The two firms have had close ties since Mike Street started SHB 4x4 in 1968 with only one Land Rover, after spotting that the construction and oil industries were struggling to source four-wheel drive vehicles for on-site and pipeline work.
It was the beginning of the highly successful family-run business, now with nearly 6,000 vehicles for hire and more than 300 employees.
It has also become the largest buyer of Land Rovers outside the Ministry of Defence, with thousands bought for the fleet during the past four decades.
