Fuelcard acquisition

The Fuelcard Company has acquired Abbey Fuelcards.

The deal will add a further £45 million turnover from over 2,000 new business fleet customers and will increase The Fuelcard Company’s client base by almost a third.

The purchase marks the third acquisition for parent company, FleetCor, Europe in 2008.

“We are thrilled to make this announcement as it shows FleetCor’s continued investment to bring its significant financial resources and leading customer management techniques to clients in the UK and continental Europe,” said Andrew Blazye, CEO of FleetCor Europe.

“As FleetCor builds its European footprint we are constantly on the lookout for companies who can expand our knowledge and customer offerings,” added Charles Freund, managing director of The Fuelcard Company.
