The opportunity to play a key role in making London 2012 an event the whole world can enjoy is being advertised to the fleet industry.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) said that transport will play a major factor in its ability to deliver.
And it is looking for an “impressive transport professional” to make his or her mark as the LOCOG’s fleet car services manager.
“Whether you’re transporting athletes, officials, the press, marketing partners or staff, it will be down to you to ensure our fleet service exceeds our expectations and sets the standards for others to follow,” explains the Fleet News advert.
The successful candidate will be expected to oversee all aspects of fleet service development, while creating a support team.
In addition, the fleet car services manager will be required to support the procurement, evaluation and ongoing management of vehicle sponsor and supplier programmes, as well as effective commissioning and decommissioning.
LOCOG has billed the position as a “truly unique opportunity”, offering somebody the chance to share an “historic moment not just in the UK, but on a global stage”.
