Nigel Trotman has joined Alphabet to head the company's well-established strategic consulting team.

Having won wide recognition for its hands-on approach to implementing innovative cost control solutions, multi-marque car leasing company Alphabet is placing an increased focus on it’s consulting business.

To his new role of Head of Strategic Consultancy at Alphabet, Nigel brings extensive experience from 17 years of front line fleet responsibility. He has been involved in all aspects of fleet management including strategic direction, major reorganisations, supplier relationships, environment and risk.

As head of Whitbread Plc's £11 million UK fleet operation, he was a winner of several awards including Employee Benefits Magazine “Best Car Policy”, and Energy Savings Trust Fleet Hero award along with two Fleet News awards. Prior to joining Alphabet, he managed the in-house fleet of Lex Autolease and was close adviser to several large clients of Lloyds and HBOS.

Nigel said: "I’m delighted to be moving to Alphabet at this exciting point in their development, and I look forward to upholding our consultancy offering as the best in the business, whether customers are looking at risk, environment or cost performance.

“Dedicated in-house experience is becoming ever more valuable. The fleet manager population is smaller than it was and HR, finance and procurement managers are looking for suppliers who can bring the skills in with them.”

Paul Hollick, general manager sales development, Alphabet, added: "Nigel is well known and respected across the industry. We both share a common ambition for Alphabet's strategic consulting division, which is that it will continue to focus strongly on offering end-to-end solutions, innovation within the marketplace and be an advanced corporate “Research and Development” hub aligned to BMW’s future mobility solutions strategies. We don't simply 'tell and sell', we analyse, design and implement across-the-board changes to hold down costs and improve operational efficiency."

Alphabet's Strategic Consultancy Team advises on operational, technical, legal and fiscal aspects of policy, and creates and implements fully tailored solutions.  The team works on large and small scale projects, from root-and-branch policy reviews to specific operational issues.
