The country’s largest lease company, Lex Autolease has begun appointing its new partners following the completion of tender processes initiated after the new company was created last year.

As a result, two new contracts have just been announced.

Auto Windscreens will be Lex Autolease’s contracted partner until 2013 exclusively supplying replacement glass to its fleet of 320,000 vehicles.

Auto Windscreens will supply a nationwide automotive glazing repair and replacement service to all Lex Autolease vehicles, through its network of fitting centres and 700-strong mobile fleet.

“Offering opening hours from 8am until 8pm was the major factor in Lex Autolease choosing to partner with Auto Windscreens,” said Rick Francis, operations director at Lex Autolease.

In addition, Kwik-Fit Fleet will supply and manage the Lex Autolease fleet’s tyre repair and replacement needs as well as deliver a range of ancillary services, including vehicle servicing and MoTs, following the signing of a contract worth £150 million over three years.

Kwik-Fit Fleet was already a supplier of a range of services to both Lex and Lloyds TSB Autolease before the two merged.

“Kwik-Fit has a strong mobile fitting network that allows it to deliver first class customer service, both in branch, and at remote locations for all of our customers,” said Andy Hartley, head of third party supply, Lex Autolease.

“Kwik-Fit’s ability to undertake MoT inspections and some standard maintenance work on vehicles at the same time as replacing worn tyres allows us to provide a more flexible service for our customers.”
