Tracker is announcing a new partnership with Direct Line, designed to evaluate how best to deliver telematics technology into the retail motor insurance arena.

The agreement comes as Tracker steps up its focus on delivering telematics solutions to the fleet market and investing in new technology to bring its benefits to a wider audience.

Thousands of motorists are set to take part in the year-long analysis, which sees Tracker assist Direct Line in measuring risk by monitoring an individual's driving behaviour, with a particular focus on young drivers.

Stephen Doran, managing director of Tracker, said: "Telematics has a key role to play in supporting the insurance industry in assessing risk. Our partnership with Direct Line illustrates a clear commitment to fully understanding how telematics can best support its customers throughout their insurance policy's term.

"We will be working closely together to ensure we use the capabilities of our successful telematics solutions to help Direct Line provide its customers with the right level of protection, at the right price."
