Oades to serve second term as FTA President

Stewart Oades has been elected to serve a second two-year term as president of the Freight Transport Association at a recent FTA Board meeting.

Oades, who is a director of Palmer and Harvey and a trustee of international development charity Transaid, took over as FTA president from Andrew Haines in April 2009. He has been on the FTA Board since 2007, and has over 30 years’ experience in the logistics industry.

Oades said: “FTA is an exceptional organisation providing first class business services, advice and lobbying for its members throughout the supply chain.

"It is a pleasure to be able to work with its highly professional and enthusiastic employees, council members and my fellow directors. I am looking forward to my next term and to ensuring we continue to develop the organisation to meet our members’ needs.”
